Wonderful service and great food! A true institution in Karlsruhe that must not perish from Corona. So order diligently! Food can be ordered on deforestation :)

Very tasty african food. The service is very attentive and nice. We are currently using the pick-up service and enjoying the great food at home. We look forward to coming back to the restaurant for dinner.

Very tasty food and very friendly and attentive staff. The food is traditionally eaten with the hands (but knives and forks are also available on request). The beer is very tasty and is served in a coconut shell.

Super nice people. If you like you can eat traditional food with your fingers. (but there is also cutlery ;-)) A great experience, something different. Traditional ? made from a coconut shell with different flavors. Very delicious. Nice little restaurant with a great matching ambience.

Wonderful and authentic experience! We went to Mogogo for the first time today and it was magical. An incredibly friendly waiter, generally very nice staff, great ambience and of course delicious food! The dining experience and the great explanations about the dishes were terrific. Absolute recommendation !! Definitely give it a try when you stop by Karlsruhe!

What can I say? Just wow. The ambience, the service and the food, everything was perfect. The service alone would have deserved 10 stars. I have never experienced such friendliness, we would come back just because of him. And now for the meal. We had a record on which there was something of everyone. An experience in terms of taste. You can't say more than that, try it out. It was a really great evening in a great atmosphere. We'll come back and try our hand at the menu. Anyone who wants to eat something extraordinary and still want to feel super comfortable should reserve an evening here. We say thank you for this wonderful eventful evening.

Extremely friendly staff, it was thanked several times which gave a feeling of appreciation. The waitress even remembered us even though it was almost a year ago that we were there last. A tasty fireworks display without exaggerating. Even if you are a little awkward with eating at the beginning, it is simply an experience to eat with your hands. I have seldom felt so comfortable in a restaurant. The price-performance ratio deserves more than 5 stars and so does the service. We always like to come here and look forward to the next time. Soooo delicious ... The food is really extremely tasty (both the vegetarian dishes as well as those for "carnivores" :-)) and also looks great. The typical Ingera (flat bread that looks like a Spontex cloth sponge :-)) should of course not be missing here. I think that the traditional African beer in a Kalawas drinking bowl deserves special mention. Both Mongozo Coconut and Mongozo Mango were very tasty (almost like champagne beers). The service is very attentive (family run). A surprising number of people fit into the rather small rooms with an African ambience (before Corona, now clearly thinned out).

Very distinctive African cuisine, I chose the double platter, the amount is absolutely real, I wanted to try the dessert, but I didn’t even finish the platter. The flavor of the hot sauce and the acidity of the pie crust blend well. The style of the overall stew overlaps with the Asian home-cooked flavor. I especially like the vegetables inside. The original sweetness and sweetness land on the tip of the tongue. The drink ordered mango beer, which was very low in alcohol and had a clear mango flavor. After the meal, a fruity liqueur was given as a digestive aid. In short, it was a pleasant dining experience.

Have been here several times and have eaten very well every time! The portions are gigantic (so I would recommend sharing :)) We were always served in a friendly manner and each time we discovered a new dish. Highly recommended for vegetarians or people who want to try something new in culinary terms :)

Excellent vegan / vegetarian options and friendly service. We ate at various Ethiopian restaurants before, but this is by far the best we ever experienced. The Madi Tofu plate for two people was delicious and the tofu was very well seasoned. Highly recommended.

Extremely friendly staff with great tips for those who are not familiar with African cuisine. The food was fantastic, the different plates balanced. As a favorite I can especially recommend the kangaroo meat, which is very tender. All in all a very nice visit with great food. Gladly again!

This restaurant was on my list of places to visit for a long time now, it's still top rated ( avg. of 4.8 with 600+ reviews ) and today I gave it a try during lunch time. Food was very delicious and as spicy as requested, portion size big and staff was very friendly. As the portion size is quite big you should think twice before ordering additional side dishes ( couscous in my case ).

The decoration on the tables and throughout the restaurant is decent and beautiful. The toilet is always clean and all in all the restaurant gives a nice impression. Certainly yours truly come here with my relatives and can rely on the impeccable service. From our point of view, a visit is highly recommended. For gourmets everything is a treat here. The portions are an appealing and filling league.

Really good food and friendly environment. Gets very hot inside in the summer, so try to get an outside table or close to a window. Exotic flavors, and some of the best service in the entire city!

I really liked food in this place! I had kilwa lamb. Meat was a bit too dry to my taste but the rest was making my stomach happy. Good tea with ginger, gives a kick in cold days!

Top level African food and flippen friendly staff

Ok food, portions are too large to finish and the variety of flavours and textures that is served on one plate can be more diverse for the price asked for. Atmosphere is ok, service is good.

I look for Eritrean places everywhere I go! This place was one of the best places I've been to. Beautiful interior. The food was fantastic! Such lovely flavours (had the tofu/vegetarian for 2). Service was fast and friendly, and they were very accommodating of our bad German! Also note it is 1 minute walk to the beautiful botanical gardens!

Being a non-vegetarian it's hard for my palette to be satisfied by something vegetarian.. This place was just to break the jinx. A must visit place and very warm welcome. Strongly suggest to have reservation on weekends unless you want to try your luck?.. Do try the local beer but it will be an acquired taste and may not tick off as a beverage to be honest?. The overall experience makes it a weekend hangout for sure. I am going there again as there is a lot still waiting to be tried and tested.. knowing I won't be disappointed ?

We were seven people and the rating is the average of the food. There are also very friendly staff and a nice ambience. Anyone who wants to eat with their fingers and get explained how to do that best. Should you have experienced.

Mogogo is an authentic Eritrean restaurant offering good Eritrean food. The Injera is really tasty and served very authentic. Reservation are a must. Try to come early as the Injera tends to run out late in the evening.

It can not be said otherwise, we were thrilled. The service was incredibly friendly, the food was delicious (just the sharpness was perfect) and the ambience was authentic. If I come to Karlsruhe again, I will definitely eat here again.

The food was delicious and served with a dose of humour (some enjoy, others may mind it). Unfortunately some quite unpleasant digestive problems ensued on the following day.

My first and only experience with African (Ethiopian) food till date, but man did I love it. Extremely delicious food and cosy ambience with nice and sweet staff. The food is served with the spicy dish alongside a soft rice crepe, which by the way is out of this world. The food is one the lines of south indian food (dosa) and which is probably why I loved and enjoyed it so much! :) It is however slightly expensive but yes, once in a while totally worth it!
